ESSAY 8

SORU:

Students at universities often have a choice of places to live. They may choose to live in university dormitories, or they may choose to live in apartments in the community. Compare the advantages of living in university housing with the advantages of living in an apartment in the community. Where would you prefer to live? Give reasons for your preference.

Üniversitedeki öğrenciler genelde kalacakları yer için bir seçim yaparlar. Üniversite yurtlarında kalmayı tercih edebilirler ya da şehirdeki bir dairede kalmayı. kampüste kalmanın avantajlarıyla şehirdeki bir dairede kalmanın avantajlarını karşılaştırınız. Although some students may choose to live in apartments, if I had the choice, I’d prefer that living in dormitories. In my view, there are two advantageous of staying in university dormitories.
First of all,living in a university dormitory is more convenient . They do not have to worry about to spend their money to shopping for home because the dormitory provide all of them. Moreover, students do not have to spend their time by cooking their meals . Having their meals in a school’s cafeteria is more easy for the students. This way, they do not have to waste their time by cooking or doing cleaning. Therefore, they can spend more time on their studies.
Besides this, the students which stays near the university do not suffer from the transportation problem. In big cities namely Istanbul and Ankara, there are so many traffic during the whole day. The traffic congestion such these big cities may lead to the students late from their lessons while living in dormitory students do not have to face with this problem.
Taking of all these factors into account, we may reach that living in dormitories is more reasonable for students due to not causing transportation problem and it is also convenient.
DEĞERLENDİRME:
Although some students may choose to live in apartments, if I had the choice, I’d prefer that living in dormitories. In my view, there are two advantageous of staying in university dormitories.

Böylece essayin bittikten sonra özellikle hangi kısımları kontrol etmen gerektiğini bilirsin. Kompozisyonundaki yapı ve gramer hatalarının altını çizdim. Essay de altı çizilen hatalara ilişkin düzeltmeler ve öneriler sırasıyla aşağıda:

GENEL DEĞERLENDİRME:
Kelime sayısı (208) yetersiz. En az 300 kelimeyi hedeflemelisin. Çözüm fazladan bir gelişme paragrafı (yeni bir sebep) ya da varolan paragrafları geliştirmen olabilir. Tez cümlesi, gelişme ve sonuç paragrafları essay şemasına uygun. Genel bir giriş cümlesi olması gerekirdi. Örneğin, “Many students face the difficult decision of whether they should stay at an apartment or a dormitory” genel giriş için kullanılabilir. Sonuç paragrafını bir tavsiye, sıraladığın sebeplerin doğuracağı sonuçlar veya son bir yorum ile bitirebilirsin.
Ancak, kompozisyonunda kritik bir hata yapmışsın. Soru “compare the advantages” olarak sorulduğu için yazdığın essay sorunun sadece bir bölümüne cevap vermiş. Burada yapman gereken bir gelişme paragrafını “advantages of living in an apartment” a ve ikinci gelişme paragrafını “advantages of living in a dormitory” e ayırmaktır. Bu sorunun ilk bölümü. İkinci bölümü ise “Where would you prefer to live?”. Bu bölüme cevap vermek için 2 seçeneğin var.

1. seçenek: Yeni bir gelişme paragrafı açmak (3. gelişme paragrafı) ve “dormitory” tercih ettiğini söyleyerek ek avantajlar sıralamaktır.

2. seçenek: Fikrini sonuç paragrafında söylemek. Gelişmedeki fikirleri hatırlatmak ve yeni bir fikir, avantaj, öneri veya sonuç belirtmek iyi fikir olabilir.
